59. Fork Tower

Note: This is an optional and a one-time visit dungeon, so make sure you collect everything.

Fork Tower is located next to Crescent on the island chain in the southeast corner of the map.

This tower contains two of the most powerful magic spells: Flare (Black) and Holy (White).
To climb this tower, you have to split up your team into two. Recommended team:

  • Left Tower (Black Tower): two mages.
  • Right Tower (White Tower): two fighters.

The reason is that monsters in Black Tower will retaliate with powerful spells if you hit them with a physical attack. Similarly, in White Tower, those mobs will counter you with a barrage of physical attacks if you hit them with magic.

Preparation:

  • Black Tower: Black Mages are recommended because they have Drain and Osmose spells, which can heal and replenish your MP by absorbing from enemies, so you never run out of HP/MP. Both mages should equip Gold Hairpin to reduce mana consumption.
  • White Tower: Use your strongest weapons available. I have Excalibur + Two-Handed dealing around 4000HP, and Samurai with `` Ninja with 2 weapons Chicken Knife and Assassin's Knife dealing around 4000HP, making it so much easier.

Boss: Minotaur (White Tower)

Not much of a strategy since you can only use physical attacks. DO NOT equip any elemental weapons, especially if you have Excalibur or Holy Lance, because this guy can absorb Holy element. The Defender you got earlier is a great alternative here.
One ally in the front as a damage dealer, another ally in the back mainly for healing using Hi-Potion. You can also hit if you have a free turn.

Note: Throwing elemental scrolls doesn't count as magic. You can throw Flame Scroll or Lightning Scroll, and avoid Water Scroll, it'll heal the boss.

Boss: Omniscient (Black Tower)

This boss is weak against wind element, so having Blue Mage with Magnus Rod is highly recommended. At the end of the battle, the boss will use Flare, which deals massive damage on a single target. Use Reflect or Carbuncle on both allies to help negate most of his spells, including Flare. However, before you cast Reflect, make sure you buff your party first.

Blue Mage and Summoner keep spamming Aeroga or Syldra (summon).
Omniscient can sometimes use buffs like Shell and Haste on himself, so you should use Dispel to break them.

Another strategy is to cast Berserk or Silence on him, then summon Golem to negate his physical attacks.

Catapult

Board the airship and enter Catapult.
