Beastmaster job has 3 commands: Calm, Control, and Catch. In this section, we only focus on the Control command.
This ability allows the wielder to control a magic beast with an accuracy of 40% (or 73% with Hypno Crown), which means it'll take a few tries to take control over a monster.
The reason we talk about this is because we'll need this ability to learn Blue Magic spells. Some monsters do not cast blue magic right away and require Control to take over and cast it on your allies.
You'll need to unlock this ability as quickly as possible, and it requires 60 ABP (Beastmaster Lv. 2).
Grinding ABP
Since we haven't gone far enough to get a good spot for ABP, the best you can possibly find now is still in the Ship Graveyard - 3rd Shipwreck, inside the room with 3 chests. There, you'll always encounter 3 of the following enemy formations:

On average, you'll get 2 ABP per battle, which means that you'll have to fight about 30 times. Setup:
- Enter Karnak and buy 2 Mythril Knife (you should have 1 Whip from defeating Magissa, and 1 Main Gauche from Karnak Castle).
- Change everyone's job to Beastmaster and make sure that they are equipped with Main Gauche, Whip, and Mythril Knife.
- Go back to Ship Graveyard, enter the 3rd ship, the room below deck (you should see 3 opened chests in the room).
- Run around and set auto-battle until you win (you should be able to kill any monster here in a single hit).
- Repeat until you learn the Control ability.

Once you learn Control, head back to the Karnak area.
