Level Requirement
Inside the library, there is one monster called Page 64 that has a blue magic spell Level 5 Death. This magic can instantly kill any characters whose levels are divisible by 5. For example, 15, 20, or 25, etc.
So, before entering the library, make sure that NOT all characters' levels are divisible by 5.
In many cases, all of your characters have the same levels, and if you get hit by Level 5 Death, then it's a game over.
To make your characters have uneven levels, you can kill some of your allies before the battles end so that they won't receive EXP. Use the healing pot on the library 2F to heal, then repeat until one character has 1 or 2 levels above the others.
Also, make sure that at least one character has a level divisible by 5 to obtain the blue magic.
For example: Bartz Lv. 20, Lenna Lv. 19, Galuf Lv. 19, Faris Lv. 19
Only Bartz will die from Level 5 Death (make sure he has the Learn ability set).

Library of the Ancients
Tip 1: Often make a Quicksave when trying to get blue magic.
Tip 2: Since some of your allies are susceptible to Level 5 Death, you should always run from battles after collecting all bestiary entries and blue magic spells. These monsters are not worth fighting now.
Once you are ready, enter the library and head straight north to the roof to get our blue magic.
Blue Magic (13/30): Level 5 Death

It is on the library's roof, 3rd book. You can later find it inside the library too if you don't get it on your first battle.
Make sure that the character with a level divisible by 5 has the Learn ability set.

Head back #2 to enter the library's basement, B1, then follow the map below.
There are more blue magic spells we need to collect here: Moon Flute and Off-Guard, both from the enemy Page 256.
Note: Page 256 only appears sometimes after you defeat Page 32, Page 64, or Page 128.

This blue magic causes Berserk status on your entire party, and Page 256 tends to use it early after it appears. So I suggest you should at least have 2 strong physical attackers in your team.
Blue Magic (15/30): Off-Guard
From Page 256.
Right after Page 256 appears, keep spamming Control with the 3 characters you set the ability on. Once you take over, use Off-Guard on the one with the Learn ability.

Guaranteed Drop: Fire Scroll
Weak against ice-based magic and attacks. The fight is super easy with 3 Black Mages (equip Frost Rod) and 1 White Mage.
Blizzara, Spellblade - Blizzara, Shiva, Aqua Breath, breaking Frost Rod are excellent against him.
Before facing the boss in the final room, set the Learn ability on everyone because it's a single-target blue spell.

Blue Magic (16/30): Magic Hammer
Guaranteed Drop: Iron Draft
This boss has a blue magic Magic Hammer.
Just like other Pages monsters, this boss is also weak against fire. So having 2 Black Mages (equip Flame Rod) spamming Fira and 2 White Mages can easily end this battle. Do not forget to set the Learn ability on everyone and make a Quicksave before triggering the battle.
Upgrade Fire-Powered Ship
- Go back to Karnak and visit Cid in the Pub #1 on the 2nd floor.
- Then follow Cid and Mid to the Fire-Powered Ship to trigger another important plot.
- When you regain control, leave the room and talk to Cid, who is sleeping outside, and this completes the ship upgrade plot. You can now use the ship to sail the outer sea.
