Before you do anything, re‑equip your best weapons on Rosa and Kain.
I recommend giving Rosa a Bow instead of a Staff so she can deal solid back‑row damage with arrows.
Cid will be leaving soon, so move Kain back to the front row.
Your formation should be:
- Front row: Cecil, Yang, Kain
- Back row: Rosa, Cid
Next, save and enter the castle to your left.
Head straight north to the throne room to fight two consecutive bosses.
Boss: Calco x3, Brina x3
They only use basic attacks.
Have Rosa cast Protect to reduce incoming damage.
To trigger their Combine skill (which forms the giant doll boss), defeat:
- 1 Calco
- ALL Brina
This forces the transformation.
Boss: Calcobrena (missable)
This boss is missable if you don’t trigger the Combine transformation above.
Calcobrena can inflict Paralyze and Confuse, so stay alert.
Strategy:
- Yang & Kain: keep attacking
- Cecil: heal or attack depending on party health
- Rosa:
- Cast Protect if not already active
- Keep everyone alive
- Use Blink on your melee fighters when possible (guarantees dodging two physical hits)
Boss: Golbez
You cannot damage Golbez at first.
A mysterious girl will appear—after that, the real fight begins.
Strategy:
- Rydia uses Bio
- Cecil heals or attacks
The battle ends after a few turns.
- Leave the throne room and follow the map below.
- Use the Inn to fully restore HP/MP and revive your party.
- After collecting all items, equip:
- Power Armlet → Cecil
- Black Belt Gi → Yang
